Senator Edward Kennedy died 
U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy, a prominent figure in the Democratic Party, died in his Hyannis Port home, Massachusetts, at age of 77.

Edward Kennedy was the brother of President John F. Kennedy.

Kennedy was diagnosed with brain cancer after suffering a seizure at the Kennedy compound on Cape Cod in May of last year, and he underwent brain surgery at Duke University Medical Center two weeks later.

President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the nation lost "the greatest United States senator of our time" with the death of Ted Kennedy.

Mr. Obama administration raises estimate of 10 year deficit to be 9.05 trillion

About a dozen people carrying guns, including one with a military-style rifle, milled among health care protesters outside the convention center where President Barack Obama was giving a speech Monday — the latest incident in which protesters have openly displayed firearms near the president.

Paul Helmke, president of the Washington, D.C.-based Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence said, "When you bring a loaded gun, particularly a loaded assault rifle, to any political event, but particularly to one where the president is appearing, you're just making the situation dangerous for everyone."
